Base Admission
Entry Fees
The published City admission fee applies to non-Hawai’i residents age 13 and older. Children 12 or younger and Hawai’i residents with valid identification are free-entry categories.
Per person to enter the lower preserve beyond the scenic lookout.
Free admission category. Include children correctly when the booking process asks for the full group.
Valid Hawai’i identification is required to use resident entry rules.
Free does not mean no planning
Free-entry visitors may still need to follow current check-in, identification, capacity, group, and reservation instructions. Bring the proof required for the category you select.
Separate Charge
Parking Fees
Parking is not included with admission and is not reserved by an online ticket. The City fee code lists different rates based on the vehicle operator’s residency.
Valid resident identification may be required.
Paid separately when entering the preserve.
The fee code requires a parking refund when a vehicle departs within 15 minutes of entry.

Estimate the base City admission and parking fees for your group. Add your own expected transport, gear, food, or tour cost for a fuller budget.
This tool does not automatically add reservation processing charges because the live portal amount can change. Verify the final total at checkout.
At Checkout
Online Charges
The official reservation system may add a processing or service charge to an online order. Because portal fees and payment rules can change, use the live checkout total rather than relying on an older percentage published elsewhere.
Check before paying
Review the date, time, visitor categories, admission subtotal, service charges, and final amount before completing the transaction. Save the full confirmation after payment.

What Admission Covers
Proof Matters
Free Entry
Hawai’i Residents
Bring valid Hawai’i identification. Resident status applies to the qualifying visitor, not automatically to every person traveling with them.
Age 12 or Younger
Children in this age group are free, but they should still be counted correctly in the reservation or group process.
Military Visitors
Some visitor materials have listed qualifying active-duty military personnel and dependents for free admission. Verify current eligibility and required ID in the official system before relying on this category.
Authorized Programs
The City may waive fees for authorized educational or promotional programs. General visitors should not assume a waiver applies without official confirmation.

Bring your own gear or verify current rental availability and pricing before the visit.
Plan snorkelingTours
Guided snorkeling and transport packages vary widely. Check whether admission, equipment, and pickup are included.
Compare toursFood and Drinks
Plan for water, snacks, or meals outside the admission charge. Current concession availability can change.
Beach Supplies
Sunscreen, towels, water shoes, dry bags, and other personal items are not part of the ticket.
Online Charges
Use the final amount displayed by the official booking portal for any processing or service fee.
Commercial Vehicles
Carrier Fees
The City fee code also lists charges for licensed motor carriers entering the preserve. These are vehicle fees, not regular visitor parking rates.
| Vehicle Capacity | Published Carrier Fee | Visitor Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1–7 passengers | $10 | Applies to qualifying licensed motor carriers. |
| 8–25 passengers | $20 | Separate from passenger admission and package pricing. |
| 26+ passengers | $40 | Tour inclusions must still be checked with the operator. |
Tour price is not the City fee
A commercial package may combine transport, equipment, guide services, and other items. Compare the operator’s inclusions rather than treating the carrier fee as the customer price.
